Connecting Tiny Towns with Live Arts in South West Victoria
is where it's at
common thread arts
Common Threads founder, Fiona Brandscheid, is an independent promoter and producer bringing high-quality live arts to regional communities in The Otways. We focus on presenting professional contemporary music covering blues, folk, jazz and indie rock/pop, classical repertoires, dance hall balls, kids theatre, cabaret, and various performing arts projects developed by local communities. We are also the 2019 live music booker for Birregurra Festival & Art Show.
Our mantra is "If metro can have it, so can we!"
Our primary venues include:
Birregurra Mechanics Institute (up to 200 pax)
Birregurra Christ Church (up to 100 pax)
Private homes and unique venues in The Otways including wool-sheds, historic homesteads, farms, backyards, living rooms, and industrial sites
All of our venues have high-quality production and access to quality techs. Birregurra Mechanics Institute has recently undergone a major facelift and technical upgrade. The in-house production system was built by the team at Live at Bundy and is a custom 4 way active sound system that produces high fidelity uncompressed sound capable of replicating the energy of a full symphony orchestra! Musicians love it and audiences crave it.
If you are a professional musician or production company interested in playing in a tiny town for something different or stopping by the Otways in between your larger touring locations, please get in touch. The Otways is en route from Melbourne or Geelong to Warrnambool, Portland or Adelaide.
If you are a small community keen on bringing more arts to your town or learning how to grow your cultural capital, get in touch.
